Q: What is the Institute doing to safeguard my son's or daughter's safety?
A: The Institute staff members are monitoring the situation and working together to deal with it. The Institute is also keeping students updated as to the availability of the vaccine.
Q: What action is being taken to stop the spread of infection in classrooms and hallways?
A: Enforced hygiene procedures are in place and students and staff will be kept informed of government safety updates via the Institute's website and through communication via email and SMS messaging.
Q: Where are you getting advice on how to deal with the flu pandemic?
A: We are following the advice of the French government and local health authorities.
Q: What immediate medical attention is available to my son or daughter?
A: Students have access to the same medical services that are available to French citizens.
Q: I want my son/daughter to come home immediately.
A: This decision is a matter of choice you as a parent. In the event that you withdraw your son or daughter, no refund of tuition or fees will be made.
ACADEMICS
Q: What arrangements have been made to continue classes and teaching?
A: The Institute has a plan in place to provide ongoing instruction for prolonged absences due to illness.
Q: Will we receive a refund of tuition if classes are cancelled?
A: No. Coursework will be maintained through a combination of measures, including self-study and the making up of classes when faculty return to work.
Q: What will happen to my son's/daughter's exams/grades if he/she or the faculty member are ill?
A: Your son or daughter will be given an opportunity to follow or make up class work through directed self-study. In the event of a mid-term exam being postponed, the faculty member will arrange for another time for the exam to take place.
Q: Will courses be cancelled?
A: Courses will not be cancelled, except in exceptional circumstances. Classes may be cancelled due to faculty illness; however, and provisions will be made to make up classes.
Q: What happens if my son or daughter cannot take an exam for reasons of illness?
A: The Dean of the Institute will consider appeals on a case-by-case basis subject to submission of a medical certificate.
