UPDATED ALUMNI WEB FEATURES We have three exciting new features on the alumni website which you can find on the menu to the left. They include: - The new Online Alumni Directory which helps you reconnect with fellow classmates and network with IAU alumni in your area. You will each have your own listing on the online alumni directory, which you will be able to edit as frequently as you wish with your news.
- The Alumni Search that enables you to try and locate other alumni with whom you may have lost touch.
- Our Alumni Message Board which provides you with a forum to post messages to fellow alumni, to reminisce about your life as an IAU student, or to network among fellow IAU alums in your area. Check back with the IAU alumni message board from time to time to see which of your former classmates have posted messages and whether any local events are being planned in your area.
In order to use these features, you will need to log-in using the information provided in a recent mailing/emailing to all alumni who have current contact information on file. If you have not received this mailing, please email us to request it. IAU STUDENT AMBASSADOR PROGRAM The IAU Student Ambassador Program is a volunteer opportunity designed for interested IAU alumni to share their study abroad experience with prospective students. Those chosen for the program are able to participate in many different ways. Upon their return to their home institution, recent alumni can share their IAU experiences by: - Meeting with or e-mailing their Study Abroad Advisor
- Meeting with or e-mailing any of their Professors, especially those who may have been influential in their decision to study abroad
- Speaking to a French/Art/Art History class (to be scheduled with respective professors)
- Staffing an IAU table at the school’s Study Abroad fair
In addition, all alumni, regardless of when they were enrolled at IAU, can share their IAU experiences by: - Communicating with prospective students by e-mail or phone
Each option requires only a limited amount of time but is a great way for alumni to share their personal study abroad experience at IAU. Current IAU students interested in volunteering for this program should contact their Center Director. Other alumni interested in participating in the program may e-mail the U.S. office or call at 800-221-2051. Because of the amount of interest in this program and to ensure the right balance between centers (e.g.: Aix, Avignon, Marchutz) represented as well as home institutions, there is a selection process. If selected, participants will work through IAU’s U.S. Office of Admissions in Evanston, IL to determine which option/s in the program they would prefer and will be provided with appropriate training. ONLINE GIVING TO IAU We are also pleased to now offer an Online Transcript Request Form and Online Gift Forms. And we have exciting news at IAU regarding expansion. To learn more, we invite you to visit the Giving to IAU page. Please use the IAU alumni website to keep abreast of new developments and to trace how things have changed since your days as an IAU student. For so many of you, your time at IAU was a life transforming experience that is still paying dividends to this day. And IAU is like a big family. So, keep in touch!!
